Institute publicly (only) funded campaigns in order to prevent special interests from interfering in politics, avoid giving unfair advantage to wealthier candidates, and basing elections on what the people actually want from their representatives. The cost of such a program would be insignificant relative to the immediate and long term benefit and must be put in place for the United States to be truly democratic.
