Reform current time limitations on challenging paternity with DNA testing to No restrictive time limit.

Created by K.M. on February 19, 2013

A few states such as California currently have a 2 year time limitation on challenging the paternity of a child. This means that a woman can willingly conceal the true parentage of her child for financial gain. If a man does not suspect he is not the father of his alleged child until 2 years after the child's birth he cannot challenge paternity and will have to continue paying child support until the child is 18, regardless of DNA proof. The purpose of this petition is to reform the current 2 year time limitation allowing deceived men to free themselves with DNA testing when they become aware of facts that lead them to believe they may not be the biological father of the alleged child.
