Whereas the federal government requires employers to cover their employees workman's compensation benefits in an "on the job" injury, the military remains exempt. In the event that the veteran sustains a disabling injury either aggravated or incurred during service they are medical discharged from service. The current VA system DOES NOT recognize the veteran as eligible for either health benefits nor disability compensation benefits if they did not serve a 24 month consecutive term.
