Reform the current Welfare and government assistance programs to weed out those abusing/living off the system

Created by L.S. on November 12, 2012

Reform the current system as it stands that provides support of many people of the United States of America. Such a system is vital to help those truly in need, however current policies allow people to be able to do nothing while gathering funds to live on. In such, these people put a strain on our budget and support only the increasing debt of our country. Adjust the system to put pressure on those living off the system to become more self sufficient, or to pursue a form of education to better their chances to join the work force. Current unemployment systems make people look for work to claim their checks. EBT and other systems should adopt a policy that makes current users show they are making an effort to work or volunteer their time to approved organizations to improve America.
