I urge our government to implement new standards which require any recipient of any and all unemployment benefits to show detailed proof of job searches and raise the minimum job searches required weekly.
Currently in Texas recipients of UI benefits are only required to perform 3 work searches per week which they are almost NEVER require to show proof of. We feel very strongly that a person without a job should have plenty of time to get off the couch and look for a job. There is no explanation as to why working Americans put in a 40 hour+ week to support the individuals who just don't want to work at all. This must be looked into thoroughly.
