We all benefit from the freedom our government brings us, regardless of gender. The notion that only one gender need to be subject to the draft is outdated and sexist. Women need not to be put at unnecessary risk related to differences in physical ability, but neither should they be wholly exempt from the being called upon to defend the nation when it is in need.
Our president, Mr. Obama, should put forth effort to reform the legislation that unduly puts the burden of the draft solely on the shoulders of this nations young men. We ask our president to go before congress and press for legislation that requires both genders to serve our country according to their abilities.
