This petition is to request that our government better assist college graduates through more in depth programs of support, or with tuition assistance.
Currently, the cost of achieving a degree starts at close to 40,000 dollars. Most range from that easily into the six figure range. Under the current system, to payback a 50,000 dollar loan, with the high rates of interest that are standard, 10 years of $650 per month is docked. The majority of majors are unable to pay this, even with their careers.
We want to request that the government give better tuition support and loan repayment to educators, graduates who work in a location with a high cost of living, and graduates who have advanced degrees which work for the government or its contractors (Northrop, Lockheed, Booz Allen).
