Reform the Election Process.

Massive amounts of money from undisclosed sources are corrupting American democracy and making ordinary citizens marginalized and powerless. Billionaires and international corporations are buying our elections, often with enormous sums of out-of-state money. Our founders had no idea elections would become so dependent on mass media advertising, or that billions would be spent to corrupt our government. We request a law, and a constitutional amendment if necessary, requiring making all political contributions be made immediately public. We urge the development of a public financing system that limits contributions, the length of the political advertising season, and provides free time on public broadcasting so candidates of diverse backgrounds may speak directly to the American people.
