Reform the Elections to include Third Parties

Created by B.A. on January 14, 2013

During the prior election cycles, the candidates from third parties have been unfairly excluded from the national debates by the undue influence of the Commission on Presidential Debates. Only the candidates from the two major parties have been allowed to present themselves at the National Debates.

These rules, such as the 5% requirement, are clearly employed to exclude the full diversity of political views in our Republic from being debated. Such machinations are inexcusable for a Republic which emphasizes the free choice of its citizens. If the citizens are not allowed to receive the full diversity of viewpoints, they cannot truly be making an educated choice with regards to their future representatives.

Therefore, it is vital that we work to remove this barrier to public discourse.
