In two presidential elections within the past 16 years, the candidate with the popular vote has lost. This is a major problem in our representative republic, since the people are supposed to pick who represents them, and something has to change. Switching from the electoral college system to a popular vote system is the solution. Additionally, this will increase voter efficacy because the people will feel that they actually have a voice, thus increasing voter turnout. Please consider an amendment to the constitution replacing the electoral college with a popular vote, and entirely eliminating it.
