Reform entitlements by amending Medicare Part D to allow Medicare to negotiate drugs prices.

Entitlement spending is a huge problem for the ongoing solvency of the Republic. We must control the costs of programs like Medicare in a smart way that does not impact our ability to care for our own citizens. Under Medicare Part D, Medicare is forbidden by law from negotiating drug prices, and instead has to pay whatever is dictated to it by Big Pharma. Ending this practice will save $156B by simply eliminating corporate welfare for Big Pharma and letting ordinary market pressures drive the cost of drugs lower. Such policy would also spur Big Pharma to develop more efficient means of production and distribution, which realistically could lower costs for us all.
