The current and growing imbalance of trade with China is one of the most significant factors affecting the creation of new jobs in America. China uses currency manipulation, environmentally destructive manufacturing processes, impoverished wages (even by Chinese standards) and sophisticated tax incentives to lure US companies into progress traps that are not obvious to the average US Citizen. Even if the US were to begin pulling out of China, we have already taught them how to compete vigorously against us in the world markets. They have stolen our technologies, intellectual properties, processes and techniques that will be irreversibly used against us in the future. A fair trade reform law on our terms WILL create jobs now and protect those jobs for the long term.
