Reform FAFSA Independent Student Status

I am a soon-to-be student, I took a break from school because I could not afford it, for two reasons. One, rules regarding residency for public colleges require me to live in this state for one year prior to applying, and two FAFSA considers me a dependent of my father even though I am completely financially self-sufficient. However is not aa valid reason for a dependency override. I call on the Obama Administration to make it so financial self sufficiency is a valid reason for dependency override so students like me can recieve a pell grant and other need-based financial aid.
