Reform the Fair Labor Standards to include a mandatory 30 minute rest break.

Created by Z.W. on March 09, 2014

Reform the Fair Labor Standards to include a mandatory 30 minute rest break for all employees paid by the hour. Breaks help the worker to be more productive and should be a basic part of labor reform. Some states already have laws like this and it should be a mandatory federal regulation. Some jobs do not provide a break or if they do it is not long enough for the workers to eat a decent meal. Manuel labor is best performed when you have the energy to do what the job requires and that means having time to eat. In the 21st century every employee should have this as a basic right.
