The FDA is one of the most corrupt government agencies and works primarily to protect interests of the pharmaceutical industry. The FDA was put in place to protect the American people but it has been doing quite the opposite. An authenticated letter from federal scientists even tried to expose the corruption. They wrote:
"The purpose of this letter is to inform you that the scientific review process for medical devices at the FDA has been corrupted and distorted by current FDA managers, thereby placing the American people at risk."
The letter went on to explain how agency managers use intimidation to squelch scientific debate, leading to the approval of medical devices whose effectiveness is questionable and which may not be entirely safe. The FDA needs serious reform.
