The way law enforcement staff operates and interacts with the public is at the moment regional. This petition is to help reform and reach a more uniform policing system. There is already in place a set of qualifications that must be met to reach employment as a police officer. These qualifications are ideal (i.e. have a highschool diploma / no criminal history) yet there is an increased statistical error with law enforcement staff conduct within recent years. This involves frequent reported events of police brutality, unlawful searches, as well as negative public reaction to increased paramilitary police presence. The new requirements for law enforcement staff should be raised to at least a bachelor's degree. A national code of conduct should be made with emphasis on nonlethal enforcement.
