Gerrymandering was originally designed to insure government representation of all regardless of race, creed, religion, gender, and political affiliation but several members of the House of Representatives have found ways to corrupt the process by insuring their seats which undermine the election process causing disproportionate representation; allowing representatives to disregard the interests of their people. Members of the house are not elected to represent a political party or lobby group, but the people. The gerrymandering process must be fixed for the country to move forward and not be held back by those that pursue their own agenda. Leaders must compete for the votes so the right people are chosen to speak. The U.S. must not become like Russia.
