I am formally requesting the President of the United States and Congress to take a second look at the current post 9/11 GI Bill's 30 month limitation for Reservists.
For those of you unfamiliar with it, a Reservist must have deployed for a total of 30 months (active duty orders) to receive 100% of their GI Bill. Otherwise, they only receive 60%.
Generally speaking and in my experience as an Army OIF/OEF veteran, your standard deployment is roughly 400 day orders. To put that in GI Bill terms, you have to deploy three times (deployment orders differ based on branch of service) to fully receive the benefits promised to you.
My question to the President and Congress is this; Is a man or woman's service to their country - even ONE deployment, only worth 60% to you? I say NO.
