7.3 million women and their partners in the US suffer from infertility. There are only 15 states in the US that have states laws that require health insurance to assist with these issues. But those laws sometimes barely cover any real assistance to those who are trying to conceive. For those of us who are stuck in the situation of having to pay 100% out of pocket for these treatments are stuck in the stressful situation emotionally and financially.
Insurance classifies fertility as an option or luxury. The ability to reproduce and have a family is not a luxury, it is a basic human right.
People who suffer infertility issues deserve to have the same help with these issues as people who continue to have children supported on welfare. You can not support one without supporting the other.
