The current process for individuals and families to apply for status here in the U.S. is tedious and dated. Forms are similar, confusing without the help of an attorney, and filed in paper format, making them susceptible to loss at any time during the application process. Furthermore, the costs to file, even without an attorney, are extremely high. This is truly concerning when USCIS has the right to reject status at any time, without reason, unless a U.S. citizen is involved.
This process is difficult and stressful for anyone, but it especially hard on families and young people working to come to our country to start a new life and contribute to our communities. Why should those who come here legally be punished for it, while those who come here illegally are welcome? Help start reform.
