The insurance industry is a scam to defraud consumers into paying premiums for years and expecting the insurance company to be there to cover expenses when a repair is need (home or auto).
My parents paid premiums to one insurance company for over 30 years and never filed a claim until there was water damage to their hardwood floors. The agency paid nothing to my parents except for temporary housing. They had to cover all the expenses for replacing the floors in two rooms.
I paid auto insurance with one insurancy company for six years and was claim free until last year. The car was drivable but the agency said that my car would have to be totalled. The amount offered me wouldn't cover another car but they said I could buy my fully paid for car back from them. SCAM!
