Though it doesn’t sound as pretty as what we’ve been told, what we are really doing when we vote for a politician in this country is saying where we want our tax money to go and not go. A politician’s platform - even their ideals – require additions and subtractions of money to implement. Tax Money.
For many reasons, politicians have well-documented problems spending this money as their platforms promised they would. Regardless of fault, we are left with this: voting alone does not often create the realities we are promised.
There is a solution.
We should control the destiny of our tax money.
The idea is simple: Taxpayers choose, from reasonable and established categories, where our federal income tax money goes by choosing a percentage for each category.
