Currently at least in Oregon, or more states, sex offenders are able to admit crimes they have committed during sex offender treatment without the risk of prosecution. They are protected and their confessions are not admissible in court. Law enforcement will notify victims or parents of victims of the crime committed against them only to tell them the sex offender can't be prosecuted.
On the behalf of my own daughter who was abused at only 5 years old by two boys, one of them isn't being prosecuted because his confession was during his sex offender treatment program.
This serves no justice for the victims.
Please change this, so that all states in the U.S. are mandated to prosecute any and all sex abuse crimes committed and confessed during sex offender treatment programs.
