Criminal marijuana prohibition is a failure. Over 20 million Americans have been arrested for marijuana offenses since 1965. The People believe that the time has come to amend criminal prohibition and replace it with a system of legalization, taxation, regulation, and education.
Everyone of the government responses on this issues that I have read dodge the issue. It is my belief that no politician or government agency wants to take a stand on this issue because fear of political suicide.
It is time that you take a real look at this issue and start with voting on reclassifying this drug in it proper category.
I was a law enforcement officer and have kids of my own and do not use marijuana but, there are two issues that bother me here. Freedom/Choice and States Rights.
