Our Constitutional right-to-life supersedes healthcare providers moral objections to providing "futile care". We the people contest that it is the patient and their loved ones who hold ultimate sovereignty over one's life; physicians are not justified to impose their values on us. This petition calls for federal recognition of living wills, advanced healthcare directives, and patient/loved ones autonomy as the standard in evaluating end-of-life options for people in an open and honest way that dignifies our rights and independence.
