Health care for the mentally ill is lacking and is a leading cause of homlessness in amarica. Currently a stay in a behavorial health center lasts an average of 6 days while in the past it was much longer alowing for a better treatment and a better chance of remission. Currently 50% of people in the united states will at some point in thier life be diagnosed with a mental illness. America also has the lowest recovery rate of any other country including africa. Reforming mental health care would also help in lowering suicide and mass murders like the one in newtown MA.
