We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Reform Mental Health Care to Prevent Mass Violence

Created by D.P. on June 14, 2016

In the wake of the infathomably high number of mass shootings and other acts of violence, there have been fingers pointed in a number of directions, including: Race, Religion, Firearm Ownership, etcetera. While it has been brought up in congress a number of times, there have been no major reforms to mental health care in response to these tragic events. Some possible changes: promoting regular mental health examinations, requiring more strict mental health examinations for gun ownership and law enforcement personel, mental care being included in health insurance plans through both government and private health care agencies. A large majority of violent incidences in the US have been committed by individuals with mental health problems; help end the violence with better mental health care.
