The common thread between recent mass shootings is not the weapon but the mental illness of the shooter. Due to years of reckless obstruction by groups like the ACLU, family members and law enforcement are nearly powerless to do anything to unstable & possibly violent individuals until they commit crimes.
Our jails are filled with people who might have been saved by early mental health intervention, and our society is filled with their victims & devastated families. Police & families need to be able to get treatment for individuals who present a danger to themselves & others BEFORE they are able to harm others.
Don't strip moral, law-biding & sane citizens of tools to defend themselves, their families & their freedom because of the actions of a few deranged individuals.
