Every state election cycle the majority of states incumbent or incoming officials redistrict the state in order to benefit a specific political party in a future election. Though "gerrymandering" has been dealt with along racial lines, we still see a problem along the lines of political affiliation of voters in an area. This issue affects the legitimacy of American elections and must be addressed. One suggestion to solve the problem is to have states create individual non-partisan redistricting commissions.
