The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 has led to a generation of high school graduates who have learned very little besides how to pass a standardized test. This is a gross disservice to not only these students, but the effects will be felt well into the future. With no time to teach basic skills such as writing and critical thinking, public school teachers are left with their hands tied as to what they are able to teach. It is time to either repeal or reform this Act that is devastating to the future members of our communities.
