The family court system is based on dated social norms and needs to be reformed. Laws that are now antiquated were established to ensure the mother would be able to care for the children and herself financially if the couple divorced. Times have changed. Often times the fathers are forced to pay extremely unreasonable child support and alimony payments leaving them barely able to live on their working wages. At the same time many women remarry and live on dual incomes and the additional support from the father goes to subsidize a glamorous life style with no legal repercussions if she fails to provide adequate support for the children. Fathers are by default removed from their child's life. Loving fathers are left trying to explain why they can't visit their children or afford to see them.
