PETITION TO REFORM POLICE PROSECUTIONS AND CRIMINAL GRAND JURY PROCEEDINGS
The American public is outraged that the police officers responsible for killing Eric Garner, Michael Brown, and countless others have not been held accountable at trial for their actions despite evidence of police misconduct.
WE CALL ON YOU TO WORK TOWARD
1. Establishing permanent national, state, and local independent Special Prosecutors whose duty is to investigate and prosecute allegations of police misconduct;
2. Requiring close judicial supervision of grand jury proceedings in police-misconduct cases to ensure the integrity of the process; and
3. Requiring judges to issue indictments in cases where grand juries have ignored evidence satisfying probable cause.
