On 3 Jan 2012 the government enacted the Post-9/11 Veterans Education Assistance Improvements Act of 2010 (38 USC Sec. 3319). This requires service members to currently be serving in the military when benefits are transferred to a qualifying family member. They are also required to serve an additional 3-4 years for the transfer to be approved, whether they are retirement eligible or not. This benefit is earn by soldiers who have sacrificed during a deployment, and serve obligation. These soldiers are entitled these benefits. They have allowed soldiers to transfer these benefits to their families who sacrifice much more during deployments. Help or soldiers and their families earn an education and reduce the unemployment rate. Hold congress accountable.
