For-profit schools engage in predatory recruiting practices, suck money out of the taxpayer's pockets, and provide substandard schooling for vulnerable people.
For-profit schools reap $30 billion a year in subsidies from the American public, and are subject to little oversight. Being profit-oriented, they spend less on students than public or non-profit institutions, and spend far more on marketing. The American public is subsidizing multi-million dollar salaries for the CEOs of these companies.
Students are now in over a trillion dollars in debt. If we allow this feeding frenzy to go on unabated, we will be looking at another crisis the size of the sub-prim mortgage crisis in a few years.
We petition the President to convene an investigation into these schools and enact tough new rules
