Reform the Railway Labor Act

Union workers under the Railway Labor Act (RLA) are required to file a federal lawsuit in regards to Union violations of the Labor Management Reporting and Disclosure Act (LMRDA)including the Union member Bill of Rights . Union workers covered under the RLA are excluded from Department of Labor Assistance and LMRDA enforcement. The agency responsible for RLA union workers is the National Mediation Board which does not support union workers with LMRDA violations and defines their role to representational elections and contract mediation. All other unionized workers are covered by the DOL or the LMRDA agencies and unionized workers under the RLA should be afforded the same. We also request time limits on union campaigns for representation and an opt out provision.
