Current education standards center around educating kids in random groups based on age rather than individual assessment based on strengths and current economic situations. Sir Ken Robinson states in his speech at the Royal Society of Arts conference that we are currently educating this generation based on principles and ideas that existed decades ago in a completely different economy and intellectual age. Children are judged and graded against a certain view of intelligence, making intelligent kids believe they are unintelligent because they are being judged against a particular view of the mind that is decades outdated.
Changing the methods of teaching and education based on modern economic and intellectual views would greatly increase the capacity for learning in the new generation.
