Reform Section 1201 of DMCA and prevent GM and John Deere from killing liberty, small businesses, and the economy.

The purpose of this petition is to encourage the administration to use its pressure and political influence on Congress and federal agencies to prevent DMCA from being used by John Deere and General Motors to kill small business mechanics and software developers, as well as DIY Americans, and prevent the wholesale loss of liberty of private ownership that John Deere and General Motors support.
Furthermore, we want this pressure to be sought to reform Section 1201 to concretely and permanently protect the right of the consumer to modify the products they purchase as they see fit, regardless of what they purchase or where it is purchased from.
Finally, we would like the President to publicly address DMCA and give his signature to the eventual bill that makes it effective, instead of lethal.
