Please support the following measures to ensure that all military interpreters are issued the visas promised for their service:
Investigate and fine or end contracts with companies that have blacklisted interpreters for false reasons
Investigate the use of notoriously unreliable polygraph tests in determining security status
Investigate interpreters’ cases that not been updated for years despite documented constant threats to their lives
Establish a neutral entity to review “security ineligible” statuses for SIV applicants. We should trust our veterans’ statements regarding the interpreters who lived beside them on base, and in many cases saved Americans’ lives. Listen to our veterans.
Expedite the SIV approval process and review and eliminate needlessly repetitive paperwork.
