Reform Social Services and Unemployment Benefit Policies by making individuals who collect benefits perform value added services within their communities. If individuals are given jobs and made to feel useful they may eventually lose the feeling of entitlement and actually want to work for their income. Many community services have been scaled back due to state and local budget cuts, therefore, vacancies exist in areas such as schools, local parks, state parks, public works departments and many other areas. Not all tasks require skilled labor and organizations requesting workers could train individuals (another added benefit for the unemployed) and record/report attendance to the Labor Department. If the government is paying people anyway, why not put them to work where needed.
