Being taxed on income one makes has become a tenet of the U.S. Tax code. However, for far too long, working families have been unjustly taxed on costs of entering the workforce--daycare.
Families currently are allowed $5K tax-free from a Spending account(if their employer participates) and up to a $1200 tax-credit(with most middle-class families realizing far less then that due to their AGI).
To illustrate, a working mom with 4 children in day care might conservatively spend $35K in daycare. This means $30K of daycare expenses is taxable, and it is taxed AT her spouse's tax rate. For a respectable salary of $45K, this means she brings home absolutely nothing after payroll taxes.
This tax policy unjustly discriminates against working families. We the undersigned demand resolution.
