Currently, VA facilities cannot share records between them very easily; and when they do, most of the time that information is redacted, left out, or otherwise difficult to read. Veterans need care across the entire VA system, and frequently may need to be sent to another VA facility to obtain the specialty care they need.
When that happens, the Veteran will receiving billing, medications, and prescriptions separately from those facilities instead of their home VA. This puts an undue burden on the veteran, and can put the health of the member at risk as well.
VA claims, health benefits, prescriptions, medication, and health care should all share the same central repository at the VA, with access to all information necessary for the veteran, and their military records.
