reform the voting system to appeal to a multi-party system.

Created by J.H. on June 23, 2013

The American people are tired of two parties monopolizing our government. We would have better representation in a multi-party system. One of the easiest fixes to this problem is reforming our voting system:

We need to change from a plurality voting system, where you don't need over 50% of the vote to win, into a preferential voting system where a voter ranks each candidate based on who they want to see in office and who they would want to see in office if their first choice doesn't get enough votes. If a candidate doesn't get over 50% of the vote in a preferential system, we have an instant runoff election after eliminating the candidate who got the least amount of votes. This continues until someone gets over 50%. We also need to cap election funds to even the playing field.
