Reform the voting system by removing the electoral colleges and create a system that focuses on the majority.

Created by A.M. on January 12, 2013

The United States was founded off the well anticipated idea that the citizens should be allowed input in how the country is run. We do this by holding elections for government officials. However, we (the majority) are not actually the ones who decide the outcome of the election. The people who do are the "electors". These people are chosen at random, and are supposed to represent their state during the election. They are supposed to vote for whoever the majority of the state votes for, but ARE NOT REQUIRED TO BY FEDERAL LAW. This is a problem because the outcome of the election is decided by these few people. I hope to change this with this petition. I believe that the government should reform the system to allow the popular vote to become the deciding factor in the elections.
