Current welfare, custody, and child support laws do not meet the needs of the children within the families that are impacted by them.
Children need both parents to play an active and positive role in their lives. If there is a custodial parent receiving child support and welfare payments but not earning wages, they should be fined because of the poor negative example they have displayed to the child. If there is a custodial parent denying the non custodial parent visitation they should be charged with child neglect due to the emotional damage they are doing to the child. If there is a non custodial parent not paying child support they should be forced into community service and not incarcerated because confining them would not allow them to support the child financially or emotionally.
