Reform the welfare system

Created by K.B. on February 16, 2014

Each year, roughly a trillion dollars is poured into the welfare program. A lot of this money, however, is not used the way it was intended to be used. People will take the food stamps they get and buy cases of soda to resell for drug money. And it isn't just food stamps. All government handouts are abused in some way by a vast majority of people. We need to make it harder to get these handouts than putting on a backbrace and complaining about "back pain" to get them so that only people who truly need welfare can get it. We need to stiffen the penalty for welfare fraud or just eliminate the program altogether. It would be great to see it gone as the program is mostly abused and taxpayers are tossing money in to support people who do nothing and have no plans to do anything with themselves
