Reform the Welfare System to Eliminate Abuse!!

Reform the Welfare System by eliminating the EBT Cards and issuing checks that itemize and limit purchases to nutritious items. The "WIC" System is a perfect example of how the system should be managed and it is done so at the state level. This system allows families in need to purchase nutritious items for themselves and their dependents by detailing what items can be purchased on each check. The EBT Card system is completely out of control and over run with abuse. The Welfare System is designed to help families in need, provide food for their families, not purchase junk food, beer, and cigarettes at the convenience stores. At a minimum the use of the cards should be banned at convenience stores and limited to large grocery chains that will limit purchases to nutritious food items.
