The welfare system today helps the disadvantaged of our society by giving them the basics needed to survive. The problem with this system is that it is not designed to elevate generations out of poverty, it is designed to cause dependence. Welfare today is unable to give the one thing people need to truly lift their family up and that is HOPE. Hope is created by showing families there is a better way, a brighter future, not just for them but for their children. To do this make welfare conditional on the following: Require FREE education or trade training, those with children offer FREE childcare while working or in school, FREE family/personal counseling. Make welfare goal oriented, based on grades, graduation, job retention. Graduate people from welfare, stop holding them back!
