The welfare system has become a trap for many Americans, and a safe haven to others. Welfare expenditures take up a great deal of our budget as a a society, and in many cases the system does not enforce or provide that those under it will gain the skills and status necessary to become self-sufficient now and in future scenarios. What we want are welfare systems that offer grants and professional help instead of band aid fixes to poverty and economical hardship. We want a system with professionals who will look into the cause of financial disparages, and a reform which provides the resources to fix those problems This may mean covered costs for learning healthy and productive lifestyles or grants to learn trade skills applicable to the current job market, but no grossly erroneous pays.
