Student College Education debt is one of the fastest growing sectors for borrower default in the United States. It is estimated that more than 75% of college graduates have more than $30,000 in student loan debt upon graduation. Often time’s lenders make excessive funds available to students without students having a full understanding of what the payback of these loans will entail. This petition is asking that law makers apply existing and possibly new legislation dealing with predatory lending practices to Student Education loans as well. Law makers need to limit the debt students incur for education expenses while at the same time insuring those who need financial help in obtaining their goals can receive that help and be free from predatory and excessive lending practices.
