Senator Diane Feinstein has trying to reinstate some old regulations on assault weapons. There are 2 flaws in this logic which must be refuted to push for legislation to pass.
1) The weapon used in CT would not have been affected by the law. The assault weapon ban that might be re-instated at the federal level was already in place in the state, and the bushmaster used was a .22 hunting rifle that does not meet the criterion for an assault weapon.
2) School's are "gun free zones" and laws do not stop criminals, only law-abiding citizens. I propose that guns be allowed, even if only by faculty members, inside of schools.

If a teacher should miss and hurt a student, better 1 injury and 1 dead criminal, than 20 or more dead.
